Occasionally you come across a mention of the Weatherbird in the paper independent of the actual weather column. Here are some interesting instances. This will never be a comprehensive list as there are too many instances.
Did Hyatt kill the Weatherbird?
On March 2, 1902, this letter to the paper was printed on page 5:
There is, in fact, no Weatherbird in the 2/28 paper. The reference to Dr. Hyatt killing the groundhog comes from the 2/24 weather column:
