Various Mentions of the Bird in the Paper

 Occasionally you come across a mention of the Weatherbird in the paper independent of the actual weather column.  Here are some interesting instances.

Did Hyatt kill the Weatherbird?

On March 2, 1902, this letter to the paper was printed on page 5:


There is in fact no Weatherbird in the 2/28 paper.  The reference to Dr. Hyatt killing the groundhog comes from the 2/24 weather column:
