The Weather Frog is a character that appears alongside the weather column in the New Orleans Times-Picayune. It debuted on January 11, 1894 (not the 13th, is often claimed, including by the TP itself-though the frog from the 11th was rerun on the 13th) drawn by L A Winterhalder. Though it does still run to this day (as of 2026), it has not always run continuously since it's beginning. It seems to have been dropped in 1914.
